We are looking for a hands-on ELK Stack professional with deep expertise in Elasticsearch and the broader ELK ecosystem. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing search and logging solutions using Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability in a production environment.

We are expanding our cloud and data engineering team and seeking an experienced ELK Stack Engineer/Consultant to support a high-priority engagement based in Atlanta, GA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Elasticsearch clusters optimized for performance, indexing, and
    query handling
  • Develop robust data ingestion pipelines using Logstash, Beats, or other tools
  • Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Kibana
  • Ensure proper index management, data retention, and search optimization
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to integrate ELK into
    existing architectures
  • Tune performance and troubleshoot cluster issues proactively
  • Implement role-based access, security policies, and data integrity measures

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience in IT with a strong focus on ELK Stack implementation
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Elasticsearch, including cluster design, sharding,
    replication, and scaling
  • Strong understanding of Logstash, Kibana, and data visualization practices
  • Proficiency in search tuning, indexing strategies, and data modeling for large datasets
  • Experience with scripting (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation and data manipulation
  • Familiarity with cloud-based deployments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in fast-paced
    environments

Preferred Skills

  • Experience integrating ELK with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of alternative logging frameworks (Fluentd, OpenSearch, Graylog)
  • Exposure to security monitoring, anomaly detection, or SIEM integrations
