Position Summary

We are looking for a highly capable IT support specialist to provide technical assistance to our staff. In this role, your duties will include ensuring optimal use of our hardware and software technologies, enhancing system performance, and securing data. You will also be required to advise on IT equipment upgrades.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with IT managers and other departments to resolve technical challenges.
  2. Provide technical support to staff, including training on hardware functionality and software programs.
  3. Monitor system performance metrics (hardware, software, network) to identify and address potential issues.
  4. Manage software updates and hardware/system upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
  5. Maintain databases and implement security measures to safeguard systems.
  6. Document IT processes and conduct diagnostic tests for troubleshooting.
  7. Stay informed about emerging IT trends and advancements.
  8. Proactively minimize server, storage, connectivity, and network failures.
  9. Address user-reported issues promptly and effectively, following up for resolution.
  10. Foster user comfort and productivity by providing training on desktops, printers, and network connectivity.
  11. Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows operating systems (7, 8) and Servers (2008/2012).
  12. Troubleshoot network connectivity problems related to TCP/IP, DNS, and WINS protocols.
  13. Possess knowledge of LAN/WAN/VLAN configurations and network security appliances.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. 4+ years’ experience in software, hardware, networking, database and/or system troubleshooting/diagnosis problem solving technical support.
  2. Intermediate to advanced networking knowledge and solid understanding and ability to troubleshoot networking technologies (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, Wireless, Cabling).
  3. Good understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, network interfaces, network security.
  4. Adept to installation and troubleshooting printers, scanners, and other output devices.
  5. Excellent problem determination and problem-solving skills.
  6. Excellent time management and troubleshooting skills.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
